These terms cover your use of Course Beacon. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Course Beacon is a hosted course and program discovery directory. You give us your institution's course data (by upload or automated feed); we publish it as a searchable, filterable directory at a subdomain or custom domain of your choosing.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the course data your institution publishes through the product. You can invite other admins from your institution to help manage your directory.
Course Beacon offers a free plan and a paid plan with additional features. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and can be canceled at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect immediately: paid-only features (including your custom domain and any team member accounts beyond your own) end right away rather than continuing through the remainder of a billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods.
You agree to use Course Beacon only to publish course/program information you have the right to publish, and not to use the service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.
Your institution's course data belongs to your institution. We store and display it in order to run the directory you've asked us to run, and don't use it for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for more on what we collect and why.
We work to keep Course Beacon available and reliable, but as an actively developed, early-stage product, we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We'll do our best to communicate any planned downtime or real incidents.
You can delete your account and all associated directory data at any time from your account settings. We may also suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, or free-tier accounts that have been abandoned for an extended period.
Course Beacon is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
As an early-stage, actively developed product, these terms may change as the product does. We'll update the date at the top of this page when they do, and material changes will be communicated by email.
